I have been blessed to meet and interact with some amazingly gifted writers who have opened up their hearts and minds to me. In one form or another, they have helped me on my journey and are a fundamental part of my growth as a writer. I wanted to thank them for their part in helping me along the way. Their willingness to answer questions and lend a guiding hand makes me proud to be part of the writer community.
The Twelve Days of Christmas is more than a Christmas Carol that we avoid singing (at least that is what I do), it is a time of celebration. I would like to celebrate the twelve days of Christmas this year, by raising a glass to the accomplishments of some the writers whom I have met along my journey so far. I will be sending out a post, or gift if you will, each day from December 25, 2018, to January 5, 2019 hi-lighting an author that I admire, and providing links to their works. Trust me, you won’t want to miss it, I know some pretty awesome writers and they create some fantastic stuff!
12 days won’t be enough to spotlight everyone that I have met along the way, and there are so many more that I would like to thank. So I urge everyone to check out the writers listed at the GDRWA website, and for anyone who frequents Twitter be sure to follow #12DaysofChristmas over the next few weeks. For any writers looking for their tribe, I have met some fantastic folks under the hashtags #turtlewriters and #dolphinwriters, a few of whom you will meet through my posts.
I’ve added some links below that I found interesting about the Twelve Days of Christmas and will be leaving you with my all-time favorite version of the Christmas Carol. The one I grew up with runs a close second and you will have to go way back to Soundtrack of my Life #4 to hear it, but the version by the Muppets and John Denver has always been at the top of my list.
Happy Holidays everyone, and be sure to check out my posts starting December 25th!
