A Love Letter to my Ideal Reader

Hello my friend,

We haven’t met yet, but I’m excited for the day we finally do. While I may not have started out creating best-seller material, I have been consistently growing as a writer since the day I committed to this Journey. And it is a journey, one that I’ve embraced and which I’d like to welcome you on with me. One where I’m committed to my craft and learning new things about my process every day. Where I share stories along the way flavored with everyday happenings that inspire or challenge me.

I can’t promise you will like absolutely everything I write, but that is the funny thing about growth, isn’t it? We evolve, change, and end up fine-tuning the things that serve us while letting go of the things that don’t. I can’t say that I will always offer you excitement and adventure at a level that reminds you of something you would see Ryan Reynolds, Jake Gyllenhaal (or if you are around my age, Bruce Willis, Harrison Ford, or Hugh Jackman) in. But what I can offer are stories that include relatable characters, resolutions to conflict that aren’t always easy, and Easter eggs… so many eggs. Just there for the picking!

I adore symbolism and my brain finds connection in the smallest of things, which is how I find deep meaning in my surroundings. It’s how I ground myself. I like to share those connections in the words I write and attempt to infuse the pages with approachable magick. My hope is that the idea of endless possibilities comes through in my stories, that is my gift to you. To help you unlock the magick in your own life and then apply it. What happens after will be up to you, but isn’t it fun to imagine the possibilities?

I write in the sub-genres of romantic fiction, Fantasy, Paranormal, and Supernatural to list a few, and while the stories differ, the one common thread that binds them is Magick. In my opinion, it is all around us, waiting to be welcomed into our lives by those who move through it every day. I love the idea that ordinary people, like us, find themselves in extraordinary circumstances and rise to the occasion because they must. That those who set out to do evil are stopped in their tracks, and even some of the so-called “villains” can be redeemed by the power of love. What was the quote? Ah yes…

It is perhaps why I do like myself an anti-hero. If you do as well, you are in the right place, especially if you like Loki, Han Solo, Dead Pool, and/or Wolverine. It might be that I like to think that the world’s chaos is only one spell away from being resolved. Unrealistic? Perhaps… but it is where my Muse makes her home. My safe place. I will pick hanging out with her each and every- time I’m having a shit day. Honestly, I pretty much like hanging with her no matter what kind of day I’m having, she makes a mean Lasagne.

If you find Joy in the small things, Magick in the every day, a touch of Flowery language (I can’t help this, it is the ex-florist in me), Resilient Heroines, Marshmallow Alphas, Supportive Betas, Magical Worlds, and stories that take you on a journey with beautiful imagery to enjoy along the way, then I believe you and I have some things in common. Please do me the honor of reading my words and, if you’re so inclined, letting others know what you think. I can’t promise that it will be a five-star read, but I do promise that if you open yourself up to the worlds I create, you might be surprised and delighted by what you will find. If nothing else, I will give you a small break from reality and who doesn’t need that in today’s world? You know I’m right…

I have left a small piece of myself behind in everything I create, and the words are written 100% by me (no AI stuff here), which you may figure out by a misspelled word, or a misplaced comma. (My editor takes sooooo many of them out! So many!) I’m only human, and from one human to another, I hope you can skim over the flaws and enjoy the stories as they were intended from the start. Stories about finding self, love, resolution, happiness, strength, and dreams, in whatever world or situation the character finds themselves in. It is possible… dreams can come true. Please help me achieve mine by reading the books I’ve written and please know, I write them all with you in mind.
