The quietest book launch known to the Writerdom and why I’m ready to talk about it

At the end of 2023, I published a story titled Wolf Of My Heart in an anthology without much fanfare. After the fundraiser was over, I published that story on my own and wrote the companion to it, which I finished in 2024. Because the stories are shorter I decided that it would be best suited for a Collection, and held back both books, until the release of my Shifters In New York Collection. As with all projects, it took longer than I counted on with edits, layout, cover, etc. so my Solstice story never truly made it out into the world that year, and Wolf of my Heart sat on the Island of Mis-fit Stories, right along side it.

I eventually did release the Collection, however, the story I wrote about Sam’s brother Brent really didn’t get a fair shake in my mind as far as marketing goes. I mean… look at that cover! Adorable! And the only place you see it is on my website or in B&W in the pages of a print book that hardly anyone has seen. Now I ask you… was it fair of me to keep this “fake fiancé” with “touch her and you’ll die” vibes all to myself? Probably not… but what I can I say… Brent is “chef’s kiss.”

I’ve said it before, my protagonist, Sam, in Wolf Of My Heart, came along when I was questioning my ability to write. That happens a lot by the way… me questioning my abilities. But in the end, his story came pouring out and gave me a connection to my Power Of Four series I didn’t realize I needed. That world has gotten me through some stuff, and I really missed the fun banter of the shifters who lived there. What I wasn’t expecting when I wrote it, was that his Brother would knock on the door of my psyche and ask where the love of his life was. Brent knows what he wants and will patiently wait for it, by the way. After a few days of him standing outside that door… I finally let him inside and he told me his story. It led me to having a chat with Tasha’s BFF… and the rest is history.

There are 3 stories in the Collection which are intended to be “stand alone” although I would recommend reading them in order, especially since they won’t take you long to read. They are Novelette length, and the entire book could probably be read easily in a day. What is special about A Shifter For Solstice, is that I haven’t ever put it out there, other than to pop it up on my website and in the few paperbacks that have sold since its release. Wolf Of My Heart is a story that has been sent out to subscribers, as is The Jinni’s Wish, so Brent’s story sort of got lost in the publication shuffle. So that brings us to the reason for this post.

This book is languishing on Goodreads!

Well that… and this book is a perfect fit for this time of year! It takes place during a winter solstice, so for anyone looking for a holiday romance with a paranormal twist and witchy vibes… this is the book for you! So I have a huge (multi-part) favor to ask! If you have read any of the stories in the Collection and would be so kind as to leave a review, I would love you forever! I will list the links to Goodreads below to make things easier on you.

The second part to this ask is if you haven’t read any of the stories, please consider purchasing them directly from my online store. They are listed for $1.99 and are exclusive to my website as single titles and The Jinni’s Wish is a free title which you can get by subscribing to my newsletter. Or if you want the stories all in one place, you are welcome to download the collection as well, and that Goodreads link is here: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/239070280-shifters-in-new-york-collection. I worked long and hard on that online store, so if you could help me test it all out… that would be the best gift you could give me for the holidays ever!

Thank you, Thank you, THANK YOU!

As always, I appreciate all of the likes, shares, emails, and comments, but most of all I appreciate you taking the time to follow my journey. Knowing you are out there makes the travel a little less lonely. And thank you so much for showing this book some love… Brent and Alice were very patient and their story was definitely worth the wait! Happy Reading and Happy Holidays! XO
