The Power Of Four is a Contemporary Portal Fantasy and Paranormal Romance series.

It follows the stories of 4 women who each find they embody the power of an element and must learn to fight together to rebalance the Universe’s energy before the Shadowman masters the powers he has stolen. They are told in 3rd person/multiple POV and include some on the page intimacy.

When I wrote the Power Of Four series, I decided the period of time between the Prequel, Twist Of Fate, and Book 1, Sea Of Dreams, was prime real estate for a story. I had decided I needed to know a little bit more about the mysterious Kadar, and exactly what had brought him to Wisteria. When I thought about the situation I had thrown Sevilla into in the prequel, I decided she could use a friend, and this novelette came pouring out.

This story is about the beginning of a friendship, and intimacy much more meaningful than some of the steamy scenes I’ve read or written over the years. This is about 2 people who have been hurt and abandoned, learning how to trust again. I believe this story provides context in some of the scenes in the Power Of Four series where you catch glimpses of them, and helps you to understand the subtle ways they communicate and show their loyalty.

This novelette can be read stand alone, but was written in the Power Of Four series timeline as book .5 which comes between the Prequel and Book 1. If you would like to check out my writing and like Fantasy and Paranormal Romance with Magick throughout, please consider giving it a download.

The Goddesses In Love series is Fantasy and Paranormal Romance as well, but Greek Mythology style.

These stories are myth retellings where the ladies actually get the happily ever-after they have deserved for millennia. Books 1-4 are stories and characters from Greek myth, reimagined by author D.A. Henneman. They are novelette or novella length works written in 3rd person/multiple POV and include some on the page intimacy, although most scenes are written as fade to black.

I have always loved Greek Mythology, but knew from the start that the women were getting a raw deal. It took me over 5 decades to finally do something about it. Pandora was a character who peeked her head in the room in Athena’s Challenge, then moved front and center in Web Of Lies. It was then I knew I needed to write her story and it was one that came out pretty quickly, especially for such a slow writer.

I am someone who loves reading, and writing, prologues. I also love reading the author notes, the acknowledgements, and the forwards, but who doesn’t love to know more about a book they just devoured? What I adore more than anything is origin stories, especially if they are for a morally gray hero or heroine, or even perhaps for an anti-hero/heroine we just can’t help rooting for. Maleficent, Cruella, Han Solo, Loki… you get my drift.

For Pandora, we all know her fate… or do we? Did she really open the box (it was a jar from what I researched), or did someone else do it and blame her? Who knows, maybe her silly husband did it and she took the blame. No matter the situation, it made for an intriguing story I couldn’t pass up.

I would love to have you along on my journey, so if Greek Mythology retellings are more your jam, you can join my newsletter and get my take on Pandora’s Curse here:

I hope you like reading these, as much as I enjoyed writing them, so please be sure to let me know what you think by leaving a review! The more you let me know, the more I will write… and that is a win win for all of us! There are so many more stories to tell!
