Adding to the Soundtrack of my life, one song at a time… here is soundtrack #1!
If there is one song that sums up my mind set, it’s I’ve Lived by OneRepublic. For those who know me this will come as no surprise. For those who don’t, it’s a way for you to get to know the person behind the writing.
Music is a way to communicate, to express feelings and emotions that may be hard to share otherwise. It is a art form that I’ve always admired, and it is mind-boggling to me that someone can unknowingly change the course of your life in a three minute span. The artists that have touched my life are varying and, to a degree, somewhat eclectic. My intent moving forward, is to share with you the songs that I’ve connected to the most during my life.
I wasn’t always a positive person and, if I’m being honest, sometimes I struggle with negativity. This particular song found me at a time in my life when I needed it, at a time that was somewhat dark for me. It holds a message that spoke to my heart, that told me to embrace all that life had to offer, and gave me the drive I now use to follow my dreams. It encompasses a message that I wish for all of the people in my life, even those who I haven’t had the honor to meet yet. Embrace the journey….live your life to the fullest….and never, ever give up!
P.S. I wrote this at the beginning of my journey and it is crazy to think now that I’ve been at this for 10 years! So much has happened, and there is so much more to come. What I do know is that the person I was afraid of not being here 10 years in the future, but here I am! Cancer didn’t stop me, and neither did the naysayers in my life!
I’m still here past D.A. and you have written 13 books and working on your 14th! Can you believe it? Of course you can’t, you are still working on book 2… but you will get there! I promise you! You will find the proof below!
