Books on my Nightstand – #15

Since my last bookstand post (which you can read here) the only book that I made any progress on was “The Witch Haven” by Sasha Payton Smith. I ended up giving it a three-star review, as it was a bit slow for my taste, but overall it was an enjoyable read. You can read my full review on Goodreads here: https://www.goodreads.com/review/edit/56980357. She does write beautifully, and if you are into YA reads with magical realism, and a touch of history, you might want to check it out.

I still haven’t read “The Change” by Kirsten Miller, or “Fairy Tale” by Stephen King, which are still high on my list of next reads, but I did have one sneak ahead on my TBR Pile. So here is what I just finished: “To Trust A Colton Cowboy” by Dana Nussio. This book is published by Harlequin and is Romantic Suspense in the Coltons of Colorado world. You can find my Goodreads review by clicking here, and the blurb is:

A cyberstalker is terrorizing her…

And the threats are escalating.

The threatening texts Kayla St. James is receiving insist she knows where something is hidden. Terrified, she confides in her boss, rancher Jasper Colton. Though Jasper’s father sent her dad to prison, Kayla’s only option is to trust him. But as the terror campaign intensifies, Kayla begins to care for Jasper despite her misgivings. Can two former enemies unite to take down a vicious stalker?

The best and worst thing I could have done for my TBR Pile was to join TikTok. These next three purchases were entirely the fault of some readers I follow on #BookTok, but I’m not sorry. I am very much looking forward to reading them all, as they have come highly recommended, however, it may be a while before I get to them. I may have a few ahead of them since I promised myself to read the older purchases before the newer ones, but in the meantime, they will look really nice on my nightstand…

The Odyssey will be the first on this list to be read as it ties in with some of the research I’ve been doing for my mythology series. Most of my characters get a detailed article written about them, which you can find on my Mythical Creature Monday page. This is where I index all of my research on Goddesses, Myths, and Legends! I have a lot of fun researching these characters and finding little-known stories to pull into my fiction. I am also diving into Superstitions there, so be sure to check it out!

What books do you have on your TBR pile right now? I would love to know! Especially if you have just read something that knocked your socks off! I am especially looking for suggestions on anything Witch, Witchcraft, and of course, Mythology! Drop me a line anytime at da@dahenneman.com or comment on any of my social media links which you can find here.

In the meantime, happy reading and all my love and wishes that you stay happy and healthy! XO
